** Technically I'm not a friend (just an editing peon), and I'm not lying :) That means something right?

Thanks for the compliments.
As for writing competitions, that is exactly how I got into the business.
I would write every day, always submit my work to competitions and never give up.
Best of luck,
Nick

Hey Nick. Just want to say that I think you are absolutely brilliant.

I have been a huge fan of your work in The Guardian and Prison Break and the quality of your wonderful writing is clearly illustrated in all the episodes. Well done on your success!!!

Thanks for showing the truth behind what it is like to work as a writer. Too many people seem to portray the writing industry as a glamorous world and that they get paid to do nothing. I think it is very nice of you to give us fans an insight of what your life is like in the writing industry as it is very encouraging and shows your passion.

I myself want to be a successful writer and plan on entering some screen writing contests. Would you be able to give any tips or advice on the best approach to this?

Thanks again and keep up the good work with your career!

Ha! Yes, I am responsible for that line - "Get on the Train!" but Bob Knepper as TBag brought it to life! Can't tell you how much I love that people all the way in England are enjoying Breakout Kings, my writing, whatever. Just thrills me. There will be a special new British cover of the re-release of my first novel, SLIP & FALL. I will put it in my PHOTOS section of my website in day or two.
